Petershagen/Eggersdorf – the expanding twin village
Thanks to young families, as well as senior citizens wanting to spend their retirement in countryside without entirely giving up the advantages of the city, the population of Petershagen/Eggersdorf is growing. A plus factor for many are the good transport links: The twin village can be reached via the A10 motorway and the B 1/5 Federal Highways east of Berlin. The municipality is also connected to the Berlin suburban railway network.
The Eggersdorf-Süd business park is located north of the suburban railway tracks between the stations of Petershagen and Strausberg and is 12 hectares large. The nearest motorway junction, Berlin-Hellersdorf, is 7.6 km away, Federal Highway 5 is just 5.8 kilometres away, while Strausberger airfield is located 11 kilometres away. The park's tenants include a builders' merchant centre and automatic-doors specialist “Deutschtec GmbH”. The majority of the companies here are small and medium-sized enterprises.
Cycling and hiking
With three elementary schools, a private comprehensive school with an upper grammar-school level run by “Fürstenwalder Aus- und Weiterbildungszentrum gGmbH” (FAW), a music school, kindergarten, nursery and family centre, a strong emphasis is placed on educating the municipality's youth. At the same time, the 13 circular hiking and biking trails through the woods and along the lakes around Petershagen/Eggersdorf ensure that the population can easily keep in shape.
